Synopsis:

Sextus Julius Frontinus, from Rome, a well known military person as well as an engineer, “consular man”, as called by this work's translator, author of texts about the problem of waters in Rome and about surveying, he was also the author of a well known piece of work, Strategemata or Strategematicon (sic in the prologue, a translator's inscription, Diego Guillén de Ávila, addressed to Pedro de Velasco, Count of Haro), where “he puts many remedies and tricks into action for all the war events”, in fact a list of very well chosen war anecdotes.

The “Authorities” and characters served as examples, the advices and the warnings are offered as side apostilles.
