Very important book or essay on Valencian medicine. Written by Lluis Alcanyís, doctor born in Xátiva, author of books and new medical techniques. Was burnt at the stake in 1506, whilst his works were dispersed.

An essay which at the same time as it advises on remedies and formulas for combatting the plague, gives culinary and gastronomic advice on wine, meat, fish and vegetables, sauces and other condiments. It also refers to resting, the siesta and the evening.

According to Professor Enrique Llobregat, of exceptional significance are the handwritten notes which appear in the copy reproduced, surely made by Alcanyís himself.
